Louis Vuitton A/W 2011

This show kind of reminds me of Ellie Driver in Kill Bill as she walks down the hospital corridor to the whistling song. Beautiful and ominous. It also reminds of dominatrix's crossed with an army of vengeful female soldiers. They look hell bent either way. Comfort over style? No way. The contrasts are wonderful, restraint versus full blown erotica. Sweet jumpers and white collars next to wide, almost painful looking waist belts and see-through sheer. Thick military style coats with thigh high stockings. One of the models walked down the runway with her hands clasped in front of her, completing the confusing yet fascinating collection that you really cannot, and why would you want to, look away from.

Stella McCartney A/W 2011

Stella McCartney is one of my all time favourites. Apart from one season that i try not to think about, i always love and want everything. Minimalism can be difficult to do, the best way to ensure success is to make sure your fabrics look (or are) expensive. Silk, cashmere, sheer, lace, that kind of thing. Basically, if you see it and want to touch it, it's perfect. That's what makes this collection so fantastic. It has a real subtle sexuality too, very effortless, very 'oh-this-old-thing-i-just-threw-it-on'. Every piece has the potential to become your favourite thing in your wardrobe. The thing that you pull out everytime and think, no i can't wear that again, I've worn it for the last week! Then you'll try on everything else from your wardrobe before admitting defeat and pulling it on anyway. Highlights: the lace peeping out from under the blazer, the long billowing trousers, white chunky jumper and the voluminous sleeves.

I was intially attracted to this collection by the flash of blue i could see popping off each tiny image on Elleuk and i had to have a closer look. I went past the blue and started to get a bit bored, but I am so glad i kept clicking because i reached this camel, sequin, pvc mac, fur goodness that you can see above. It's a tutorial for anyone who wants to wear orange but doesn't know what it goes with (a lot in case you wear wondering; brown, royal blue, camel, peach, purple and grey just to name a few).

Isabel Marant A/W 2011

When i look at the pictures from an Isabel Marant show it's as if they just went out into the street, found the most stylish, effortlessly cool girls they could and sent them down the runway with the promise that they could keep the boots. All you have to do is put on a piece from this collection and boom, your cool factor is rocketed skywards. I saw at least four different coats that i want, lots of denim, including a denim/shearling jacket kinda like mine which makes me feel very cool I tell you, plus there is the joy of all that fringing, and who doesn't love fringing. Fringed jeans looks like a possible DIY project. I'll keep you updated on that one.

These are a few of my favourite looks from the Central St Martins MA show. I particually enjoyed the simple structured grey with the splash of orange plastic (could I? I kind of want to...) and the distressed denim, it was messy and rebellious, like Alexander Wang on steriods. I also liked the two tone silk dresses (although they were from different collections). I am most excited about seeing more from the denim collection, i really do hope we see more in future seasons.

On the whole i do like it. Yeah, i know, not the most enthusiastic opening to a post. Not quite the marriage proposal Missoni got. But i do like it. I'm quite a minimal dresser myself, so i would definitely wear most of it (except the roll neck sweater, that high a neckline is not my friend) and i absolutely love the two tone trousers, my fingers are firmly crossed that H&M will do a decent copy. I think it's the models faces, i know it's not traditional for them to leap buoyantly down the catwalk, but is it me, or do these ones look extra moody? I don't know what it is, it's wearable and beautiful, so why is it making me a little sleepy? Answers on a postcard please.

Oh my lord i am in love with Missoni right now. I'm drafting a proposal as we speak it goes 'Dear Missoni, you are god, please marry me instantly'. Good right? I mean it's just heavenly! I love knitwear as a rule anyway but it's all soft looking, all the colours blending together like sunsets, the florals, the rainbow snakeskin floor length coat (i swear my jaw didn't just drop it fell off), the long lengths, the slouchy, effortlessly sexy, embodiment of all my desires. Am I being a little OTT? I think not.
